WHAT’S IN MY BEACH BAG?

Hello! I hope you’ve had a great week. I’m currently sat with the girls by the pool in Alicante having the best time in the sun. I’ll say no more as I don’t want to make you too jealous!

So, I thought I’d give you a sneak peak into my beach bag to find out what my poolside essentials are…

Ray-ban’s

You may have seen on my Instagram and Twitter that I’ve bought myself a third (yes, third) pair of Ray-Ban’s. I seem to have adopted an unhealthy Ray-Ban addiction, buying a new pair every summer for the past three years. Someone stop me next year!

These are my favourite of the three. I’m obsessed with rose gold so when I saw these I just had to get them. I don’t actually sunbathe in them as the panda eyed look isn’t the one I’m going for, but when I’m reading my book, they are ideal!

‘The Couple Next Door’ Book

I’m not a reader at all, but when I’m by the pool I turn into a complete book worm. Last year I read ‘The Girl on the Train’ which was amazing, so this years book has a lot to live up to. I’m currently half way through ‘The Couple Next Door’. It’s definitely worth a read if you like a bit of a thriller. I’ll let you know my verdict when I finish it.

Sun Cream

This is a new one that I’m trying out this summer. I usually use Nivea Bronze and Protect, but for some reason I always come out with a horrendous heat rash, so this year I have opted for Piz Buin Allergy Skin Sensitive Sun SprayThis one applies so well and provides great coverage. It also smells so nice.

I’ve gone for a SPF 30 to start with, followed by SPF 15 and then SPF 15 oil for the end of the holiday when my skin has adjusted and I’m feeling a bit more confident. I have also gone for their facial sun cream. I ALWAYS apply SPF 30 to my face, nothing less, as burning anywhere can be awful, but you do not want a lobster face, my friend!

I also wouldn’t be without my Malibu Scalp Protector. I used to really suffer with a sunburnt scalp. My natural hair is so dark so my head just melts in the sun. This product is SPF 15 and since I’ve used it, I haven’t burnt once and I can’t recommend this product enough!

To prevent my sun cream floating around loose in my bag, I bought this little cute cosmetic bag to place them in. It was only £1 in Primark and it actually comes in really handy.

GoPro HERO Session

I was bought this for my birthday earlier this month for my trip to Bali in September, so I’m using my holiday in Alicante to test it out. I’m trying to create a holiday video, which I’m really enjoying doing. It’ll be interesting to see the final result, which of course I will share with you all. Unfortunately, the Kardashian-esque holiday music video is for our eyes only!!

Headphones

Wherever I am I always love listening to music. In the car, in my room and definitely by the pool. I always have my headphones to hand, although I haven’t actually used them that much this holiday as I’m with the girls and we’ve made a standard ‘holiday playlist’ that we’re all listening to through the speakers. But when I’m feeling a bit of Take That, it’s time to put my headphones in as I don’t think the girls would approve!!

Water

Most importantly, water and lots of it! I usually drink four or five litres of water a day, so when I’m in the sun I need to drink even more to stay hydrated. I’ve brought along my favourite water bottle from Typo but it’s got a little battered…but it used to look like this!

The bottle carries one litre of water, so it’s easy to track how much you’re drinking each day. Plus, show me anything with my initial on and I’m sold!

So, the bag itself is from Primark and I’ve had it for donkey’s years. It’s such a great size and I love the straw effect (apart from when it scrapes against my sunburnt thighs when I walk back from the beach!)

I’m going to check out now and enjoy the rest of my holiday, but you can keep up to date with all that I’m getting up to on my Instagram. Have a lovely weekend!
